EUROPEAN RURAL NETWORK: The Vibrant Rural North

Time: 16.04.2018–18.04.2018

Place: Kuressaare, Estonia

Sihtgrupp: Invited participants

Registreerunute nimekiri

The three Rural Development Networks in cooperation with ENRD Contact Point are organising the workshop on

“The Vibrant Rural North”

A Trilateral Workshop on visions and actions for the future

Venue: Hotel "Meri", Pargi 16, Kuressaare, Estonia

The purpose of this event is:

  • to get to know each other and our national application of the RDP and networking better, in order to see our own respective programmes and actions in a new light
  • to learn more, individually and as teams, about possible futures - and apply major driving forces at hand on concrete topics
  • to reach suggestions for actions that can be applied within this period or be kept in mind for the programming of next period.

The method/programme

During the workshop we will have a chance to listen to three speakers on important forces affecting the future: how we visualise future ruralities, the climate change and the technological changes.

Through these lenses we will work jointly to form images of the future of our rural areas, with its challenges and opportunities, within four different themes: Smart villages, Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Urban-Rural connections.

Based on the findings we will jointly develop suggestions for actions that can help us, nationally, bilateral or even trilateral, to enable rural actors to handle the challenges and act on the opportunities.
