| Backround of the project: |
NGO Nelikand is the forth association of the village who has been active for many years. During the round-table of NGO Pandivere Development and Incubation Center villages in 2007 they realized that the association dreams of its village house and they planned to buy former shop-building for that reason. They bought the land and started to build the house from the very beginning. For now the village house is ready and a dream has come true. The village house is important place for local people to communicate, to organize meetings and to develop joint activities. |

Building Kurtna village house. Village house has a big hall, 3 working rooms, a kitchen, a sauna and toilet. They employed voluntary villagers to realize the project. |
| Output and results indicators: |
The new village house creates good presumptions to gain more positive effect (including cooperation with entrepreneurs, create new services, using local resources and raw-material, more employments). Cooperation and successful ideas can start only when people take the time to meet and communicate. Kurtna village house is perfect for that.
Some other Estonian or foreign groups occasionally visit the area of Pandivere. Kurtna village house is a nice place to welcome guests, present village activities with a concrete example from Pandivere area, to sit around the table and create new synergies.
The village house creates a big added value for the area and it is also raising the living quality. |
| Experiences/lessons learned: |
It is possible to realize the dreams of one village or community. It also gives courage to other villages in the area about the potentiality of self-activity and people shouldn't wait and hope that someone would do the job for you, for example local authorities. |
