The cooperation partners are LAG Karhuseutu from Finland (Leading partner), Hiiumaa Cooperation Network from Estonia, and LAG Development North West Zealand and LAG Bornholm from Denmark.
Project starts in June 2011 and ends on July 2012. |
| Objectives of the project: |
The wider aim of the project is to establish transnational cooperation about maritime heritage, to join the actors of this sphere in Baltic Sea region and to involve youth in to the project.
The sub-aims are the following:
- To retain and activate the navigation traditions;
- To raise the awareness about marine environment;
- To create a network of partners, including teams, ship builders and youth in Baltic Sea;
- To exchange experiences and know-how about building ships, reconstructing and sailing;
- To involve youth. |
| Main activities: |
The main activities are the following:
- Marketing the project;
- Teaching the navigation;
- Organizing so called opened door days on ships;
- Exchanging ship builders. |
| Output and results indicators: |
- The project has involved a big number of youth;
- Young people can learn maritime and shipping;
- The vocabulary related to maritime heritage;
- The number of skillful yachtsmen will raise;
- The maritime heritage and knowledge will be rising. |
| Experiences/lessons learned: |
The good example about Hiiumaa Cooperation Network is that they have applied support under smaller projects. |
