Project title: Dare to Dream
MEASURE: Leader rahvusvahel. projekt
Measure name: Leader measure
Theme: Entrepreneurship
Keywords: Trainings, handicraft, starting with entrepreneurship
Start year: 2010
Local action group: LAG Pärnu Bay Partnership
Name of the beneficiary: LAG Pärnu Bay Partnership
Homepage: http://www.plp.ee
Sum of support: 20 593 euros
Backround of the project: The cooperation partners are LAG Pärnu Bay Partnership (Estonia), Soutukaira Touttamhan ry and Leader Tornedalen ry (Finland). The leading partner of the project is Finnish LAG Outokaira Touttamhan ry. Later, one Swedish LAG also joined the project - Leader Tornedalen. The project is necessary for activating people in rural areas, so that there would be enough innovative, qualitative and traditional handicraft products. Also it contributes to have more active people and enterprises in the rural area, and to give opportunities for communal organisations to develop some activities and products. So that they could earn the own-finance for their projects.
Objectives of the project: The project has established to get a new quality and markering output for the products and activities of three country's (women) entrepreneurs and (women) associations. Different areas have their own strong points and weaknesses - for example Finnish have failed many times on establishing a common-marketing network based on local products and services in Lapland area. Estonians have difficulties with realizing their ideas, designing, packaging and also with correct pricing. Swedish colleagues are interested in both spheres and cooperation on developing common marketing and more exclusive products. All stakeholders' countries have lack of active women, who would want to sell their products on foreign fairs and events for example. Also they would need more courage, linguistic skills and initiative. Also it would be an interesting variety if the Middle- and South European Christmas fairs and other events would be selling Nordic products. It would be the future and the next stage of the project.
Main activities: The project is about organizing preparatory meetings in three countries from January to February 2011, about handicraft and other products made by women entrepreneurs and -associations. Such meetings will give an overview of current projects, their quality, their producing capability, and about pricing, packaging and marketing.

After that, there will be a 5-days study-trip/workshop in April 2011 to meet Finnish LAG Outokaira where the main topic is about different aspects of product-marketing. There will be 20 participants from LAG Pärnu Bay Partnership and 20 participants from the area of Tornedalen, and people from Outokaira area are also participating at the presentations. There will be also a presentation of products and ideas.

In September, 2011 there will be a seminar/study-trip to LAG Pärnu Bay Partnership area about common-marketing on the example of Romantic Coastline project. Also a product-competition will be organized to choose the best products from three different countries which could be marketed and sold every summer on the exclusive and private fair in Tornedalen. There will be 20 participants per every country.

On the fall 2011-2012 every country will have discussions and meetings to promote product development and common-marketing, and to present the initiatives from every area to wider audience.
In June 2012 there will be a Tornadalen fair with 10 participants from every country to present a common project and its' results, to learn how to sell their products and how to work in an international team.
Output and results indicators: The stakeholders of the project will be the active people of the area who have their handicraft-, nature- or active tourism products, but who would like to develop, design, package or to market them in a more attractive and qualitative way, and would like to spread the marketing area.
