Project title: Young farmer Martin Repinski - goat farming
MEASURE: 1.2
Measure name: Setting up of young agricultural producers
Theme: agriculture
Keywords: goat farming;ecological farming
Start year: 2011
Name of the beneficiary: Ltd R Capital
Homepage: www.piim24.eu
Sum of support: 40 000 euros
Backround of the project: The goat-breeding started from a sad fact, that the sister of young farmer had different allergies, so their parents decided to start breeding goats.

The farm mainly grows goats, but still they have some cows. The new live stock was bought from Latvia. They are dealing with ecological producing.
Objectives of the project: The aim of the project is to expand the goat milk production.

They received support from RDP measure 1.4.2 to reconstruct the shed for goats and meat bovines, and also from Leader measure in the area of LAG Peipsi-Alutaguse Chamber of Cooperation for purchasing grass-cutter, tedder, hay-ball maker and round baler, and in the area of LAG Partnership of North-East Coast purchasing cheese container.
Main activities: The young farmer purchased meat bovines and milk goats with the help of investment support for young farmers.
Output and results indicators: The enterprise is the biggest goat farm in Baltic countries.

They are acting as ecological producer, so the goats have the opportunity to spend time on the grasslands after milking. After milking, the milk is cooled down really quickly, so that the milk will be fresh and good.
Experiences/lessons learned: The young farmer likes that he can work in fresh air, and plan his time. The next aim is to process the milk and start making cheese.

The young farmer finds that it is really important that the product would have good quality. The milk is sold as raw milk, so the taste of it plays an important role. Sometimes customers don't believe, it is goat milk, because the taste is so wonderful!
