| Backround of the project: | NGO Vanaaja maja has been dealing with examination, retention, renovation and study of farm-architecture heritage in South-Estonian (since 1998). At first the aim of the organisation was to examine and revine original log-constructing traditions. For today the aim is to teach and popularise traditional construction ways more widely. |
| Objectives of the project: | The wider aim of this project is to retain culture heritage in rural areas and improving it. The narrower aim is to carry out series of practical renovating training wherein participates will gain acknowledges and skills to renovate massive clay buildings in traditional way, using local and original materials. As a result of the training participants will gain necessary skills to renovate old clay buildings and the courage to renovate old buildings will grow. Renovated clay building will be open for all guests. Elucidating clay construction traditions. |
| Main activities: | Training will last for five days, wherein the most general problems and their solutions on clay buildings will be presented. Also different ways of finishing clay walls will be presented. This training will be a role-model for community, how to retain milieu asset and awareness of clay construction traditions will be raised. |
| Output and results indicators: | Carried out a practical training about clay buildings renovation. Project has facilitated the elucidation of clay construction traditions, renovated clay building has been opened and guidance-service of how to renovate clay buildings is actively working. |
