| Backround of the project: |
Võrtsjärve Association celebrated 10 years in action in 2010. The institution was created by seven municipalities near Võrtsjärve lake, to commonly change this unknown place into a respected resort and tourism area. They started with essential preparation work - opened exchange of views, development plans, tourism strategy, general and detailed organisation; and building objects. These dreams have became reality for today - The neighbourhood of Võrtsjärv has changed enormously and the cooperation has developed further.
Vortsjärve area is attracted into the network of European Destinations of Excellence thanks to the win of the competition "Estonian undiscovered treasures 2010. Water tourism". |
| Objectives of the project: |
Creating unified, varied, visitor-friendly and also environmentally sustainable tourism services network and water-road and developing Võrtsjärve area to be one of the most attractive tourism region in South-Estonia. To promote Võrtsjärve area tourism economy developing Võrtsjärve gates and informing visitors. |
| Main activities: |
- Organising events to introduce area of Võrtsjärve;
- Organising campaign of web-page www.vortsjarve.ee;
- Compiling a slide-show to present Võrtsjärve possibilities of activity;
- Compiling and publishing booklet "Võrtsjärve hiking instructor" to present Võrtsjärve possibilities of activity;
- Compiling of the exposition of Võrtsjärve. |
