Main idea: From about the 12th century (mostly already known from pre-Roman times) so-called salt roads became increasingly important trade routes in the transalpine north-south and west-east transit traffic. On them salt was transported to the northern Italian cities. The sovereignty over important passes along these salt roads increased the influence of small pass-countries.

Increasing traffic, also in the postal service, led to the development of further mountain passes. This was followed by the type of locomotion (on foot, on pack animals, in carts, horse-drawn carriages, carriages and later on by train and car) slightly delayed due to the difficult topographical conditions of the respective technical progress.

In terms of tourism, the subject of hiking with horse, mule or donkey is to be prepared on traditional mule routes in the form of a long-distance trail. In Switzerland, there is already the Sbrinz route, on which over a week from Switzerland to Italy can be hiked. The experience of hiking together with the animals stands out from all long-distance hiking projects.
Conditions for partners: Looking for partners from all European countries.
