Main idea: Advances in technology have provided new ways of using entertainment and game technology to foster human interaction. Games and playing with games have always been an important part of people’s everyday lives; treasure hunting has been a draw for the adventurous. Combine that sense of adventure with global positioning technology and a desire to take advantage of the great outdoors, and you have a phenomenon known as geocaching. Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt that can take place nearly anywhere. Geocaching is enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. There are an estimated 3.1 million (and counting) geocaches hidden worldwide, according to geocaching.com. Some players have found hundreds and even thousands of those caches, and travel extensively to discover new ones. This modern twist on treasure hunting has captured the interest of more and more people and tourism destinations are jumping on the bandwagon, recognizing that geocaching is a good way to stimulate tourism and economic impact. The aim of this project is to create and hide new geocaches all around the territory of the Romantic Coastline and give the visitors an opportunity to explore these trails and tours. Most caches are strategically placed near important historical monuments to give our visitor a brief history lesson while some are scattered throughout our great hiking trails or small enterprises of rural tourism that offer catering and accommodation.
Conditions for partners: Looking for partners from all European countries.
