ELARD President Ms Kristiina Tammets participated on 21.-22.02.2017 in Brussels, Belgium in ENRD LEADER/CLLD sub-group and ELARD General Assembly.

On 21 Feb 2017 an ELARD General Assembly took place in Brussels, with 18 out of 24 member organisations present.

The main topics discussed were:

1) The dissemination of Tartu declaration - LEADER/CLLD declaration for 2020+ in ELARD member countries: Member organizations decided to translate the declaration and will run negotiations to improve LEADER/CLLD for future. ELARD will start to build a database/platform for the policy work undertaken by our members in their countries. This will give a holistic picture of key issues discussed nationally as regards LEADER/CLLD. It will also help to exchange good practice and increase the knowledge of our members.

2) Capacity building of ELARD as an organization: Amendments to the ELARD statutes will ensure a better connection with the LAG level and will give more decision making rights to full members. ELARD will proceed with the election of its Council this year.
