What National CAP Networks are?

According to European Union legalization, all European Union member-states have established National CAP Networks.  European Union CAP Network is a rural network established on European level.

The first period of activities in 2007-2013 (COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 1698/2005 of 20 September 2005 on support for rural development) is supported by the European agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

The second period of activities in 2014-2020 (REGULATION (EU) No 1305/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 on support for rural development) is supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 1698/2005).

Estonian CAP Network main aims of activities

The main aims of Estonian CAP Network are

to improve the quality of CAP Strategic Plan implementation;

to increase the involvement of target groups;

to inform wider public and potential beneficiaries about rural development policy;

to contribute on the development of innovation in agricultural, food, forestry and rural sectors.

Local Action Groups and LEADER are important part of support activities!

Monitoring, evaluation and review of network activities involves submitting reports to the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture contributing to the RDP Annual Monitoring Report.

Estonian CAP Network in 2023

The Estonian CAP Network is the Rural Network Service department of the Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge that is administered by the Estonian Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture.

The Estonian CAP Network is advised by Network’s Cooperation Chamber. The Network Cooperation Chamber involves relevant rural actors is responsible for ensuring cooperation between bodies representing ERDP beneficiaries and those involved in implementation.

It provides advice to the Estonian CAP Network regarding network activities, annual Action Plan, Network Cooperation Chamber Leader thematic group, and the thematic group. Estonian Rural Network in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture will choose potential themes for Cooperation Chamber selection. The Cooperation Chamber has 2 annual meetings per year.
